Develop a detailed project plan and design for the fiber network. Detailed engineering design, including fiber routes, splicing plans, and hardware specifications. Project timelines and resource allocation are also established.
Secure the necessary permits and approvals before construction begins. Coordinate with local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Source and procure the necessary materials and equipment for the project. Purchase fiber cables, conduit systems, connectors, splitters, and other required infrastructure. Ensure quality control and timely delivery.
Prepare the site for fiber installation. Trenching or microtrenching, installation of conduits, and clearing any obstacles. This can include aerial fiber installation on utility poles or underground fiber placement.
Lay the fiber optic cables along the designated paths. Fiber optic cables are pulled through the conduits or mounted on poles. The cables are then spliced together, and the network is configured according to the design plan.
Ensure the system is functioning properly before going live. Perform optical tests (such as OTDR testing), check signal strength, and verify that all connections meet performance standards. Resolve any issues identified during testing.
